Scuba Diving Locations in Mar del Plata
About 10 scuba diving locations are found along the coast of Mar del Plata. Most of them are relatively far from the shore. Embarked exits are organized by Club Nautico and from the nautical Waikiki site. Visibility is generally good and the water temperature depends of the season. From October to December the temperature varies from 12-18?C. From December to April 18-23C. From May to September 8-16C. From October to May the water is warm. For that reason the variety of fauna that can be observed is much greater in this part of the year.

Banco de Afuera: The bottom is sand. The depth is 17-20 meters. Visibility is average 4-8 meters. The fauna found here is the richest in Mar del Plata.
Banco de pescadores:
The bottom is sand. The depth is 7-12 meters. Average visibility 2-6 meters. The fauna is inferior to Banco de Afuera.
La Restinga:
The bottom is sandstones and small caves. The depth is 4-112 meters. Average visibility is 3 meters.
Banco del Medio:
The bottom is sand. The depth is 20-28 meters. Average visibility is 8 meters.
Banco Pozo del Tio:
The bottom is sand. The depth is 24-26 meters. Average visibility is 8 meters.
Banco Patria:
The bottom is sand. The depth is 24-42 meters. Average visibility is 12 meters
